Use case
Work Completion Validation Through Field Verification
This critical stage must be performed with full reliability and transparency. In subcontracted FTTH operations, providing verifiable proof of work quality for each field contractor is essential. This validation guarantees compliance with contractual requirements and is a key condition for payment approval.
In practice, work acceptance can be challenging due to the involvement of multiple stakeholders, inconsistent data formats, and the complexity of verifying infrastructure compliance on site.
Establishing a structured validation workflow helps secure the acceptance process and ensures high-quality, reliable data before integration into operational systems.

End-of-Work Data Quality as a Guarantee of Network Compliance
Work acceptance represents a key transition from FTTH network deployment to operational readiness.
It includes:
- verifying infrastructure compliance with standards
- validating field data collected during deployment
- detecting discrepancies between field data and existing datasets
- preparing seamless integration into the GIS environment
This phase has a direct impact on network quality, data reliability, and long-term operational performance.
Ensure the Quality of Field Operations and Work Execution
ConnectField, Dotic’s mobile field operations app, enables telecom operators (infrastructure operators and service providers) as well as public authorities to validate work completion through on-site inspections and reliably verify the quality of work carried out by field teams and subcontractors.

This structured process ensures full transparency of field operations across all stakeholders involved in fiber network deployment and expansion, while capturing the geospatial data required for network operations.
It eliminates redundant data entry, minimizes errors, and provides full traceability of all field inspections and validation processes.
Optimize and Improve the Reliability of Field Data Collection
Across multiple project sites, operators deploy field quality inspectors to newly deployed fiber infrastructure.
Project deliverables are integrated into ConnectServices, Dotic’s Web GIS platform, enabling teams to visualize and identify fiber network assets to be inspected based on their type and geolocation.
All project data and digital forms are automatically sent to the inspector’s mobile device via ConnectField. Field data—validated through geolocation and before-and-after photo documentation—is then synchronized with ConnectServices, ensuring reliable data for analysis and network operations.

Field technicians access a centralized dashboard listing all network assets to be inspected, with full visibility through an interactive GIS map.
By selecting an asset, they can launch navigation apps (such as Google Maps or Waze) to quickly reach the site.
Once on site, selecting the asset in ConnectField automatically opens a context-specific inspection form—adapted to the type of fiber infrastructure (e.g., central nodes, distribution hubs, connection points, or underground chambers). Technicians then follow a guided workflow to complete the inspection efficiently.
Field Data Control and Intervention Monitoring from the Office
Field inspectors are guided through dynamic digital forms, featuring conditional checks based on user inputs, photo documentation, AI-assisted support, and issue tracking.
Once all required data is captured, it is automatically synchronized with ConnectServices. Project managers can review, validate, or reject submissions—reducing rework—and trigger appropriate corrective actions based on identified issues.
This end-to-end workflow ensures seamless integration between field data collection, quality control, and operational management.
Key Steps in End-of-Work Validation and Acceptance
End-of-work validation is part of a comprehensive process that includes several complementary steps:
Data Quality Control
-
Validate Data Consistency and Compliance Prior to GIS Integration and Operational Use
Issue Management and Corrective Action Tracking
- Identify Issues and Track Them Through to Resolution
Intervention Planning and Monitoring
-
Organize and Prioritize Corrective Actions in the Field
